Rag Rugs a heritage craft

Rag rugs are a heritage craft, and can be found in these reconstructed historic buildings, as part of this amazing living museum.

I will be teaching traditional rag rug making using old fashioned hand tools.
Students will make a small cushion or textile art piece, and learn hooky, proggy and braiding.

Bring any pre loved fine knits you'd like to recycle. Lunch in the museum cafe or bring your own.

Natural Dyeing workshop

Learn the simple alchemy of the natural dye bath, and discover the numerous colour possibilities by making dyes with plants and kitchen scaps.

Please bring your aprons, your note books, rubber gloves ( I will have some if you dont) some plastic bags and lunch.. drinks and biccies will be provided
