Memory Mats
Rag rug making, using vintage and pre loved textils and traditional hand tools.
This is a new workshop venue, as part of the Ooh how lovely emporium ~ a glorious riot of colour and artisan works of art.
Bring your pre loved fine knits and cotton tees to recycle into your piece of work.some textiles will also be on hand for use in the workshop.
Please bring lunch, tea and coffee will be provided.

Rag Rugs a Heritage craft
Rag rug making is a traditional Heritage thrift craft, that has held onto its popularity.
You will learn traditional techniques, using hooks, bodgers and a dolly peg!!
Come and be inspired to recycle your pre loved fine knits, woollens and tees.
Please bring favourite fine knit cast offs, and any textiles with a memory attached to it..
Bring lunch or buy lunch in the on site cafe

Creative Rag Rugs with found fabrics
This glorious place is a true home for arts, crafts and conservation , set amongst stunning grounds.
On this course you will learn to use traditional rag rug making hand tools and techniques, including the shuttle hook, (mid 1800's in Ohio)
You will experiment working all techniques, then progress your work using your chosen tool/s.
Please bring any pre loved fine knit woollens, cotton tees, pj's, cotton shirts etc that you want to recycle into your work.

3D Feltmaking
Felt is natures wonder fabric. On this felting course,
You will learn to colour blend and lay out your fleece fibres over a template, and work your surface designs into your felt hat, that could be a bag!! (Same 'D' shape... )
Bags of coloured Merino fleece will be there to buy * 4/5 bags for project @ £1.25 per 25g bag)
Please bring lunch ( or buy a cafe lunch)
Also bring some bubble wrap, wooden spoon, olive oil soap bar(low suds) plastic bag and apron(optional.
